Ingredients

  • 4 medium medium apples, organic (e.g., Gala or Honey Crisp) Use ripe, sweet apples for the best taste.
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • ½ lemon freshly-squeezed lemon
  • 1 tablespoon organic raw honey Optional, adjust to taste.
  • 5 mint leaves Optional for a refreshing twist.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash the apples well under running water to remove any dirt or pesticides.
  • Cut the apples into quarters. You do not need to peel or core the apples.

Blending

  • In a blender, add the quartered apples and filtered water.
  • Add the freshly-squeezed lemon juice and organic raw honey, along with the mint leaves if using.
  • Blend all ingredients on high speed until smooth, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Straining and Serving

  • Place a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a bowl or pitcher.
  • Pour the blended mixture into the strainer and use a spatula or spoon to press the juice out of the pulp.
  • Discard the leftover apple pulp, or save it for baking or making apple sauce.

Notes

Fresh apple juice is best enjoyed chilled. Garnish with a mint sprig or an apple slice for a fancy touch. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 2-3 days for optimal flavor.
