Ingredients

For the Cherry Filling

  • 10 ounces Maraschino Cherries Substitute with fresh cherries for a less sweet option.
  • 0.25 cup Peppermint Schnapps Can substitute with Amaretto or vanilla liqueur.

For the Coating

  • 5 ounces White Chocolate Melting Discs Can use white chocolate chips or bars.
  • 0.25 cup Peppermint Candies, finely crushed Alternatively, use colored sugar crystals.

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Soak 10 ounces of maraschino cherries in 0.25 cup of peppermint schnapps for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  • Carefully remove cherries and pat them dry on paper towels.
  • Melt 5 ounces of white chocolate discs in a microwave-safe bowl at 50% power for 30 seconds, stirring in between, until smooth.
  • Dip each cherry by the stem into the melted white chocolate, covering around ¾ of it.
  • Quickly dip the base into crushed peppermint candies and place them stem up on a parchment-lined tray.
  • Refrigerate for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate sets.
