Steps

  • Pat your sirloin steak cubes dry with paper towels, and season them generously with salt and freshly cracked black pepper.
  • Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the steak and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add unsalted butter. Once melted, toss in the minced garlic, sautéing for about 1 minute until it's fragrant.
  • Stir in your broccoli florets, coating them with garlic butter. Add in 2 tablespoons of water, then cover the skillet and let it steam for 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender-crisp.
  • Return the seared steak to the skillet, combining everything together. Heat through for an additional 1-2 minutes until everything is well mixed and hot.

Notes

For perfectly tender-crisp broccoli, be mindful not to over-steam. Adjust water and steaming time based on your texture preference.
