  • 1 sheet Puff pastry (rectangular) Store-bought or homemade

For the Filling

  • 2 medium Zucchini Can substitute with yellow squash
  • 200 grams Fresh goat cheese (type petit billy) Can be replaced with ricotta or cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Chives Can substitute with dill or parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Use fresh garlic for a stronger flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper Can use white pepper for a milder taste
  • 150 grams Serrano ham Can substitute with cooked ham or turkey

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Mash the creamy goat cheese with chopped chives and garlic powder. Season with black pepper until well-blended.
  • Cut the zucchini into thin rounds. Blanch in boiling water for about 1 minute, drain, and let cool on paper towels.
  • Unroll the rectangular puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Spread the cheese mixture evenly across the pastry.
  • Cut the pastry into 6 strips. Layer zucchini rounds and ham on each strip, then fold and roll into rose shapes.
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C (355°F) and bake for approximately 35 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let the roses cool slightly in the muffin tin before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

These delightful roses can be prepped ahead of time and baked fresh just before serving. Serve with a light salad for a complete meal.
