Instructions

How to Make Peppermint Brownie Truffles

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray.
  • Follow the package instructions for your brownie mix to prepare the batter, then pour it into the prepared pan.
  • Place the pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Once cooled, crumble the brownies into fine pieces in a mixing bowl.
  • Add the chocolate frosting to the crumbled brownies and mix until a dough-like consistency forms.
  • Fold in the crushed candy canes to give your truffles a refreshing holiday flavor.
  • Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a lined cookie sheet.
  • Melt the Ghirardelli chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • Dip each ball into the melted chocolate, coating fully and letting the excess drip off.
  • Sprinkle the remaining crushed candy canes on top before the chocolate sets.
  • Let the chocolate set at room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure brownies are completely cooled before crumbling to prevent a gummy texture. Store in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature or refrigerate for longer freshness.
