Instructions

How to Make Christmas Present Brownies

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal and cleanup.
  • In a saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, mix in the granulated sugar until smooth, then cool slightly before whisking in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Sift together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Carefully fold the dry mix into the wet ingredients until just combined. If feeling indulgent, fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Allow to cool completely in the pan.
  • Once cooled, lift brownies using parchment paper, cut into squares, then melt the candy melts in separate bowls. Drizzle over brownies to create 'ribbons' and add holiday sprinkles or mini candy bows.
  • Let the decorations set at room temperature or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Optional: Serve these delightful brownies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
